// About
Lumo, and PixelLumo
I’m Lumo — Bailey, offline — a developer in Durban, South Africa. PixelLumo is the name I build under: the websites, web applications, tools and games on this site are all mine, from the first idea to the version you can use.
// What I build
Web applications and platforms that people rely on — a public civic record, a learning platform, this site and its project builder — and games, from a browser idle game on Android to a 3D motorsport manager headed for the app stores. The services page has the detail; the work has the proof.
// How I work
- Useful before clever. Software earns its place by doing a job for someone.
- Honest about where things stand: live, in development, built but not deployed, or a concept — it says so.
- Tested properly. Every project here runs its own automated tests, and most are looked at on a real screen before they are called done.
- Understandable after the first version: simple pieces that can be fixed and built on without a mess.
- People keep control of their own data. No trackers here, and none in the apps.
// What I build with
- Web
- Laravel, Livewire, Tailwind and MySQL; payments through Paddle and Payfast
- Games
- Godot for phones and PC, and plain JavaScript for the browser, wrapped for Android with Capacitor
- Desktop
- Electron for Windows programs; Python for local tools
- Running it
- Laravel Forge, Cloudflare, error tracking, and tests run before every release
// Background and direction
My work has moved through maritime operations, delivery and leadership into building software full time, which is where the preference for things that work under pressure comes from.
Right now the focus is getting Velocia onto Google Play and the App Store, alongside taking on a small number of client projects.
